L'Observatoire de la Capitale

The Observatoire de la Capitale is Quebec City's highest lookout point, where visitors can take in breathtaking panoramas 221 meters above sea level in the center of the city. L'Observatoire de la Capitale is located in the Marie-Guyart Building, which resides on the top of Parliament Hill. Hop in the elevator for a screeching trip at 1,000 ft per second and reach the top in 28 seconds. On the 31st floor (top floor), visitors can drink in the scenery that stretches all the way from the Appalachian Foothills to the Laurentians and from the Île d’Orléans to beyond the bridges!

Also referred to as the Gallery of the Capital, visitors can explore the local art and history exhibits. The Gallery puts on themed exhibitions year-round, making it a favorite destination for schools and families with children.

L'Astral restaurant, located at the top of L'Observatoire, is a rotating restaurant that overlooks Quebec City (la ville de Québec) and the Saint Lawrence River (le fleuve Saint-Laurent). Ask for dessert and enjoy one of the most intriguing views in North America!

A store is also located at the top, where visitors can pick through a wide selection of books as well as souvenirs.

L'Observatoire offers guided tours, which will surely enhance your visit.
