The Old Port Market, or Marché du Vieux-Port, is located on the grounds of the Old Port in Québec City and is open year-round. Based on a tradition spanning more than three centuries, the Market was built on the site of the 1841 Marché Saint-André. Returning to these humble beginnings where the early citizens of Québec would gather to share their goods and conversation, the Old Port Market sets up shop at the north end of the Louise basin between the Gare du Palais (palace station) and the Old Port.

Locals and visitors alike flock to the market to shop for a variety of freshly picked produce, maple products, hand-made candies, cheese, and fresh flowers, among a wide variety of other regional products. Sample the delicacies from the local farmers and indulge yourself with the market’s chocolates and other sweets.

Aside from an open-air market, the complex also offers a restaurant, an outdoor café (with an astounding view), a cheese store, an ice-cream shop, and a few boutiques. The market also hosts many activities and special events as well.
